Install the App¶
Parts Diagram is installed once per store, the same way as any other Shopify app. Installation takes less than a minute.
Prerequisites¶
Before you install, confirm:
- Your store is on Shopify Basic or above (any plan that supports custom apps).
- Your active theme is an Online Store 2.0 theme — every theme in the Shopify Theme Store published after mid-2021 qualifies (Dawn, Craft, Refresh, Sense, Debut, and most paid themes). The app uses Shopify's Theme App Extensions, which require OS 2.0.
- You have permission to install apps and edit the theme on the store.
Not sure if your theme is OS 2.0?
In Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize. If you see a left-hand panel with sections and blocks (and an Add section button at the bottom), you're on OS 2.0.
Install steps¶
- Open the Parts Diagram listing on the Shopify App Store.
- Click Add app, then Install app on the confirmation screen.
- Review the requested permissions and approve them.
- After Shopify finishes installing, you land on the embedded Parts Diagram admin inside your Shopify Admin.
Development install
If you received a direct install URL instead of using the App Store listing, open that URL in your browser. The flow is identical — Shopify still walks you through permission approval.
What changes on your store¶
After install:
- A Parts Diagram entry appears under Apps in your Shopify Admin sidebar (with sub-links to Diagrams, Products, Settings, Billing).
- A Parts Diagram theme block becomes available in the theme editor under Apps inside any product section.
- A subscription is created against your store but not charged until you select a paid plan. See Plans & Billing.
