Install the App¶
Parts Diagram is installed once per store, the same way as any other Shopify app.
Prerequisites¶
- A Shopify store on any plan that supports custom apps (Basic and above).
- A theme on Online Store 2.0 (every theme published in the Shopify Theme Store after mid-2021 qualifies — including Dawn, Refresh, Sense, and most paid themes). The app embeds via Theme App Extensions, which require OS 2.0.
- Permission to install apps and edit the theme on that store.
Install steps¶
- Open the Parts Diagram listing on the Shopify App Store (link will be added when the listing is approved).
- Click Add app, then Install app.
- Review the requested scopes — read access to products and themes, write access to your storefront via the App Proxy. Approve.
- After Shopify finishes installing, you land on the embedded admin inside Shopify Admin.
Sandbox / development install
If you're piloting Parts Diagram on a development store before the public listing is live, use the install URL we provided you. The flow is identical — Shopify still walks you through scope approval.
What changes on your store¶
After install:
- A new app entry Parts Diagram appears under Apps in your Shopify Admin sidebar.
- A new theme block Parts Diagram becomes available in the theme editor (under "Apps" in any product section).
- A subscription is created against your store but not charged until you select a plan. See Plans & billing.
